teaching experience

  • I have worked with several beloved Philly arts non profits as a freelance teaching artist from 2021-2024. I have worked as a theatre and cultural teacher with Taller Puertorriqueño, a theatre teacher with ASAP Philly, and teaching artist with Mural Arts’s program- Murals On the Move. I also worked as a play teacher with NEST Philly at the Fitler Club in their playspace!

  • From 2021-2024 I worked with Philly’s renowned Mural Program- and the nation’s largest public art program- as a teaching artist for their after school program called Murals On the Move. I worked in close relation with over 35 of Philly’s recreational centers to provide arts workshops and create murals with students over the 3 years. I collaborated with students to create projects that would be showcased in their own exhibition, and also that would inspire the design for the M.O.M van. I created and executed syllabus for the program and got to attend Mural Art’s annual Wall Ball.

  • In 2023-2024 I was the visual arts teacher at WPACES (West Philadelphia Achievement Charter Elementary School), a charter school with a dedicated arts and technology program in the Philadelphia School District. Alongside standard arts teacher responsibilities, I created murals with the students that decorated various parts of the school and organised a few school events centering art making and creativity!

  • In 2023 I was the visual arts teacher at Richard Allen Preparatory Charter School in West Philadelphia in the Philadelphia School District. Alongside standard art teacher responsibilities I created a new syllabus for the program that centers global majority artists.

  • In 2022 I worked at the Philadelphia Art Museum as a Gallery Teacher. I created and executed a syllabus focusing on global majority artists that were in the Museum’s permanent collections and special exhibits. As a Gallery Teacher, I taught students from all over Philadelphia by touring them through the museum, teaching them about the art work and getting the chance to guide them through reflective multi media art projects that they would create directly besides the art in the galleries.
